Currently serving as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Nurse Learning and Innovation at Penn Nursing, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of nursing education and practice. In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Burke is the Corporate Director of Nursing Professional Development and Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where she leads initiatives to enhance nursing practice across the organization.

Dr. Burke’s influence extends beyond her institutional roles; she is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development, a leading publication in the field. Her commitment to advancing nursing education is further demonstrated by her election to the Board of Commissioners for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), where she serves as a representative for professional consumers.

Throughout her career, Dr. Burke has contributed to the academic and professional nursing communities through her research, with four published works that highlight her expertise and dedication to the advancement of nursing practice. Barbara J. Daley, RN, PhD, Editorial Advisor

Barbara J. Daley, PhDBarbara J. Daley, RN, PhD is a respected Editorial Advisor with a distinguished career in nursing and education. She is Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), where she retired in June 2019 after 22 years of dedicated service in both the School of Education and the College of Nursing.

Throughout her career, Dr. Daley taught graduate-level courses on adult learning, program planning, organizational learning, qualitative research, and continuing professional education. She made significant contributions to the field with over 100 published works, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference papers. Dr. Daley also mentored numerous doctoral students, chairing 24 dissertation committees and serving on 70 others.

Dr. Daley held key leadership roles, including Associate Dean in both the School of Education and the College of Nursing, and she also served as Interim Dean of the School of Education. Her achievements were recognized with the prestigious Cyril O. Houle Scholars Fellowship in Adult and Continuing Education. She also served as a Visiting Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and contributed to the field as a member of editorial boards for five professional journals.

Her extensive experience in academia and her contributions to nursing education and research make Dr. Daley a valued advisor and leader in the field.

Susan C. Haussler, EdD, RN, CNE, Associate Editor

Susan C. Haussler, EdD, RN, CNE is a distinguished nurse educator and leader in nursing education. She currently serves as an Associate Editor at our journal, where she contributes her expertise in nursing education and practice to advance the field.

Dr. Haussler is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and is affiliated with the University of Massachusetts–Boston, where she plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. Her academic credentials, including a Doctor of Education (EdD) and certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE), reflect her deep commitment to excellence in nursing education.

With a strong background in both clinical practice and academic instruction, Dr. Haussler is dedicated to fostering innovation in nursing education and improving healthcare outcomes. Carol A. Mottola, PhD, RN, Research and Statistics

Carol A. Mottola, PhD, RN is an accomplished expert in nursing research and statistics, with a strong academic and professional background. She serves as a Consultant in Research and Statistics, providing valuable insights and expertise to various nursing and healthcare research projects. In addition to her consultancy work, Dr. Mottola is an Assistant Professor at Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York, where she is dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses.
